Did l choose design or did design choose me?
ABOUT ME
I've been a creative person for as long as I can remember. From an early age, I was constantly making clothes, painting and drawing, even getting one of my pictures shown on the local news channel for the weather forecast. At school l loved subjects that involved creating illustrations, diagrams and maps, leading my teachers to believe I was destined for a career in science. I initially thought maybe advertising was the path for me and l even applied to study car design. While at college l studied graphics, fashion, fine art and art history. Around the same time, Apple launched the Mac, and I knew I wanted to be part of this exciting new creative world.
My career began in the music industry, where I worked on promotional design projects before moving into brochure design and later specialising in packaging design. Over the years, I progressed to Studio Manager, leading creative teams, co-ordinating workflows and managing freelance designers. I then moved to London, working as a freelance designer for many of the city's leading agencies before eventually establishing my own design business.
Creativity continues to inspire me both professionally and personally. I regularly visit galleries and exhibitions to explore new ideas and perspectives, and I enjoy expanding my skills through creative pursuits. I have completed a Professional Interior Design course and recently attended silver jewellery-making workshops and evening painting classes, both of which have further fuelled my appreciation for design and craftsmanship.
Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, travelling, fashion, interiors, spending time with animals, listening to music, researching my family history and learning Italian. I believe that curiosity and a love of learning enrich both life and creativity, and they continue to influence my approach to design today.
If l sound like someone you would like to work with, l would love to hear from you and chat about your next project.
